The ‘Sapphire’ Ring

So there we were sitting in the car having our dinner and chillin’ out next to this banana tree — I’ll let you know why I mentioned the banana tree in a bit. Well after having random convo’s about ‘stuff’ and just enjoying each others company, I tried to pull off the ring I gave Praveena for a bit to take a look at it and it accidentally fell.

We searched and searched all over the car and couldn’t find it at all! We were dumbfounded as to what happened to the ring. I even ripped some parts of the car off trying to look for it, but had no luck. After about 30 minutes of searching and jumping back and forth from the front seat to the back, we finally gave up trying to look for it. I felt completely guilty but she told me not to worry about it.

When I got back home, I parked the car and continued my search yet again. It was pretty funny as I found many compartments and features in the car that I never knew existed. For instance, did you know there was a little tray under the passenger seat in a Myvi? Or that the back seats could expand (no idea what it’s for though :P ). Anyway, as I was rummaging through the car and expanded the backseat, I finally saw something shining there… It had a heart shape on it and I was like – “Wow… There it is! How the heck did it end up there?!”

To my amazement, it was not the ring I had dropped, but one that was VERY similar to the one I did drop. It had a heart shape on it and a blue diamond on it – whether it’s fake or not is yet to be confirmed though I assume it’s fake. I was a bit freaked out but a bit suspicious of the ring. Shortly after, I decided to open the area where the hand brake was located and alas, I found the real ring. Pretty weird if you ask me. After comparing the two for a couple of minutes and feeling good about myself, I finally decided to go up to my place.

The weird thing was, everything I was thinking about, started happening for me since I found this new ring. As I walked into my condo, the elevator which was idle on the second floor, started coming down to the first without me even pressing the button and it opened for me. I assumed that someone would’ve been in it, but I was wrong. I then went straight up to my level without any stops which doesn’t usually happen. Then just as I was wanting Praveena to call me, she did. We spoke about the ring and she was getting freaked out. She said that it’s bad luck to be next to a banana tree at night – and the fact that I found this ring after that is a bit freaky — Thanks for making me more paranoid than I already was woman!

Few minutes later, I started talking to my mum and was actually wondering when I would be going to the States and BAM! E-mail comes through from the U.S Immigration confirming my interview with them on the 25th of January. Yep – Officially paranoid at this point. I know I’ve watched one too many movies, but this is just far too many coincidences since I found the ring. My mum then suspected it had something to do with my grandmother since her ‘birthstone‘ is sapphire.

*sigh*

Well – so far only good things have been happening and I hope it stays that way. As I said, I’m not even sure if the ring is real and I highly doubt it is, but there are far too many things happening that is just a tad bit freaky :P Hehe.

So yeah – just a lil rant about the ring for today :P

A maiden born when autumn leaves
Are rustling in September’s breeze,
A sapphire on her brow should bind;
To bring her joy and peace of mind.
